Egg Tart Scented Candle
Ask anyone in Hong Kong what the city smells like, and someone will say a bakery at three in the afternoon — butter, sugar, and an egg tart still too hot to hold.
Customers had been asking us for this scent for a long time. We waited until we could do it properly. Working with local food-sculpture candle artist @candle_joke, we made a candle that not only smells like an egg tart, but is shaped like one — down to the flaky butter crust, because we are firmly on the cookie-crust side of that argument.
The scent leans harder into baked butter than most bakery candles do. That is deliberate. It is the smell of the tart coming out of the oven, not of the shop window.
Scent — Fresh-baked egg tart · butter · warm custard
Burn time — Approx. 10 hours
Made in — Hand-poured in Hong Kong
Best used — On the first burn, let the surface melt edge to edge. It prevents tunnelling and gives you the full scent every time after.
Also available as a wax melt, for anyone who wants the scent without an open flame.
