Expelli Mosquito Odour-Neutralising Candle
Every summer we went looking for something that actually kept mosquitoes away. Citronella candles are the standard answer, and once we read the research it was fairly clear they do not work. So we dropped that direction.
Then we found a study testing neem oil (Azadirachta indica) burned in an oil lamp. In that trial it drove mosquitoes out of the room, and burning it was not harmful to people. We wondered whether a candle would behave the same way, blended a batch, and handed it to the friends who get bitten most. They reported fewer bites, and mosquitoes leaving the room.
That is the honest version of the story: one study, one batch, and friends telling us what they noticed. We then built it on the OdorSentry base, so the same candle deals with whatever else the room smells of.
What OdorSentry does — Instead of covering an odour with fragrance, these candles carry a US-patented deodorising compound. As the candle burns it releases molecules that bind to the odour molecules and strip them of the property that makes them smell; once neutralised they settle and evaporate.
