Golden Matcha Scented Candle
Mid-Autumn in Hong Kong smells of pomelo. The trouble with pomelo is that on its own it only gets more sour the longer you sit with it.
So we brought in Japanese yuzu to lift it, and then matcha — a pairing most people have tasted in a dessert or a mooncake but rarely smelled. Lit, it opens sweet and citrus; the matcha arrives in the middle and stays. Together they read as jasmine, blood orange and green tea, with the matcha keeping the fruit from tipping into sweet.
It is a quiet one. Good before bed.
Scent — Japanese yuzu · petitgrain · grapefruit · matcha
Burn time — Approx. 55 hours (260g) / 30 hours (140g)
Wax — Soy wax, coconut wax, vegetable oil
Made in — Hand-poured in Hong Kong
