最初咖喱並不是叫「咖喱」,而印度咖喱的風味源自於一種叫「瑪莎拉」的香料粉。這種香料粉的氣味相信大家並不陌生,就是平時經常聞到的香料味,包括薑黃、丁香、胡椒、辣椒粉等香料。

我第一次接觸到真正的印度咖喱應該是在實習時期。當時公司頂樓餐廳經常有一位印度廚師駐守,他做的咖喱雖然異常辣,但非常美味,讓我發現我之前吃的咖喱都不正宗。

後來在不同的地方嘗試了不同風味的印度咖喱,最終還是覺得重慶大廈的咖喱最合我的口味。所以這款蠟燭便以重慶大廈的咖喱為主題,一開始聞起來會有大家熟悉的薑黃、丁香和胡椒等傳統咖喱香料的氣味,然後再加上模仿辣椒的氣味,使整體更具印度風味。

 

Originally, curry wasn’t called "curry." The unique flavor of Indian curry comes from a spice blend known as "Masala." This familiar aroma includes spices such as turmeric, cloves, black pepper, and chili powder.

My first encounter with authentic Indian curry was during my internship. Our rooftop canteen often hosted an Indian chef whose curry, although exceptionally spicy, was incredibly flavorful. This experience revealed that the curry I had been eating was not truly authentic.

Having tried various Indian curries in different places, I found the curry from Chungking Mansions to be my favorite. Thus, this candle is inspired by the curry from Chungking Mansions. The initial scent features the familiar spices of turmeric, cloves, and black pepper, followed by a hint of chili to enhance the Indian aroma.
